Loyal & True for Independence Day with Hero Belly Band

You guys know the Men and Women of the Military are very close to my heart.  The sacrifices they and their families make for our Freedoms are immeasurable!!!  That being said, this new Loyal & True Stamp set jumped off the page to me and was my first purchase from the new catalog.  You will see me create a lot of cards with this beauty and I'm starting with and Independence Day Card today :)

Supplies:

Stamp Set - Loyal & True, Timeless Textures
Ink - Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock - Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy
Layering Squares Dies

Measurements:

Card Base: Crumb Cake 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" from each end
Layer for Solider on the inside of card:
Whisper White 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"
Cherry Cobbler 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Night of Navy 2 3/4" x 4 3/4"

Instructions:

Begin by folding both end flaps toward the center of your card and burnishing well with your bone folder.
Place a piece of scrap paper under the folded area in the middle of the card to eliminate ink getting through the center while stamping the front of the card.
Using post it notes mask of a small square in the top left hand corner of the card.
Using the grunge looking stripe  from Timeless Textures Set and Cherry Cobbler Ink stamp stripes from the top to the bottom of the card, overlapping as necessary.
Remove the post it notes and reverse placing them, now cover the stripes.
Using the dots Ink stamp from Timeless Textures and Night of Navy stamp in the open box created by the post notes in the previous steps.
Stamp the soldier on the piece of Whisper White using Night of Navy ink.
Use a dauber and Night of Navy to ink the edges.
Adhere the Whisper White with the Soldier to the Cherry Cobbler and then the Cherry Cobbler to the Night of Navy using Snail.
Using Snail adhere the completed layered Soldier to the inside of the card in the center.
Using the You Are My Hero stamp and Night of Navy stamp on Whisper White.
Using the 6th  from the largest square from the Layering Squares Dies cut out the You are my Hero.
Ink the edges using a dauber and Night of Navy Ink.
Using the 5th from the largest square from the Layering Squares Dies cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler.
Using dimensionals pop up the You are my Hero square on top of the Cherry Cobble Square.
Take a piece of 1" by 11" Night of Navy cardstock and wrap around the card to form your belly band, adhere ends together with snail removing any excessive tail.
Using Snail adhere the You are my Hero layered square in the center of the belly band.
