I love creating Birthday Cards and if I can make it flashy I love it even more. In today’s quick video below you’ll see how I’ve used the Birthday Wishes for You Stamp Set with Versa Mark Ink and Silver Embossing Powder to get this vibrant look. If you’re wanting a color to pop, often times layering black cardstock behind and element or using it as a focal element gets the job done. As you can see in these cards, I’ve done both.
For both cards I went with Smoky Slate Cardstock for the card base and basic black cardstock for the first layer. I then chose different images from the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper and coordinated my ribbon and the layer behind the sentiment cardstock. It’s no secret I absolutely love the Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding but I think the Bermuda Bay Stitched Satin Ribon is just as pretty in the card below.
Card Base – Smoky Slate – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
First Layer – Basic Black – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Second Layer – Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper – 5 1/4″ x 4″
Third Layer – Bermuda – 4 3/8″ x 2 5/8″
Fourth Layer – Basic Black – 4 1/4″ x 2 1/2″
Ribbon – 10″
