Farmhouse, Winter Decor, Dining Table, Stampin'Up!

Winter has officially arrived here in Oklahoma and it was time to get this Farmhouse Decorated for January.  I knew I wanted to go with pale blues, silver, white and grays for my theme this year.  My hubby had my Christmas presented wrapped this year and on them were the two adorable silver star ornaments you can see that I incorporated on my mantle decorations, along with the beautiful silver ribbon they came with.  Often times, I will find one element to begin with just like I do when I’m creating my cards and work from there.

I didn’t have candles to coordinate so I simply grabbed a piece of the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper and wrapped it around a couple of pillar candles.  I added a piece of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper around one and the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle around the other.  Because these candles will not be lit and are just for decorations this was a perfect alternative.

I knew I wanted to include a banner this month and I love how it turned out.  I used the Buffalo Check Stamp and Smoky Slate on Whisper White for the bottom layer, followed by the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper and finally I used Silver Foil and my Large Letter Framelits for my word.  They are hanging from our Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon.  I had this old board laying around, so I gave it a quick coat of white acrylic paint, added the banner and the star and it was done.

I carried my color them into the dining room and went about my house looking for what would work.  Trust me, we all have things that are laying around that when pulled together really can make a beautiful table scape.  I created the two rosettes you see inside the lantern, one using the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper and the other using Balmy Blue Cardstock, I added a circle to the center of each and finished them off with different silver glimmer snowflakes cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits (a must have for all occasions).  I added Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon to the candle holders and the tops of my napkin rings for my final details.

If you’re wondering what that is inside my my dessert stand, well it’s cotton balls and an old inexpensive silver and white necklace I’ve had in my crafting stash forever, lol yep ya just never know with this girl.
