Welcome to my first Paper Pumpkin Alternative Post. Paper Pumpkins are our All-Inclusive Kits that you can receive each month. The content is a complete surprise, which I must say adds to the excitement. I actually open and put the project together on my YouTube Channel each month Live, if you would like to join me for the fun and excitement CLICK HERE

I used book rings to turn the calendar into a post it note holding calendar that would flip for my first alternative. I chose to use the Pool Party and Grapefruit Grove Colors for the base and used the kits abstract stamps for tone on tone stamping. I also stamped a piece of Whisper White with the Hardwood background stamp in Smoky Slate to match the top cardboard piece that came in the kit.
Card Base – Pool Party – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″ & 2 3/4″
First Layer – Pool Party – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Second Layer – Grapefruit Grove 5 1/4″ x 4″
Layers for Post it Notes – Whisper White – 4 1/4″ x 3 3/4″
Second Layer – Grapefruit Grove – 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
Third Layer – Pool Party – 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
I chose a feminine Birthday Card for my second alternative. I love how the stamp set included with the kit had a circle to highlight a specific day on the calendar, what a perfect way to add that personal touch for someones special day. The May calendar had Daffodil Delight on the top and bottom and I simply complimented this color with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. I added the 1/4″ Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon to jazz it up and Stamped my flower and sentiment from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set.
Card Base – Daffodil Delight – 11″ x 4 1/4″
Second Layer – Old Olive – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Third Layer – Rich Razzleberry – 5 1/4″ x 4″
Sentiment Layers – Whisper White – 1″ x 3 1/4″
Rich Razzleberry – 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
Old Olive – 1 3/8″ x 3 5/8″
My final alternative is a Masculine Card. This card would be great for any special occasion as I chose the It was Written in the Stars sentiment and the coordinating star clusters from the Little Twinkle Stamp Set. The March calendar was shaded in Smoky Slate and I simply enhanced it with Basic Black, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate Cardstock. I flagged the ends of the sentiment with my Triple Banner Punch and used my Basic Black Bakers Twine for the top. As you can see I randomly stamped the star clusters all over the calendar and inked the edges both with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Card Base – Basic Black – 11″ x 4 1/4″
First Layer – Smoky Slate – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Second Layer – Basic Gray – 5 1/4″ x 4″
Strip – Whisper White – 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
Strip – Basic Black – 1″ x 3 1/4″
