Happy Valentine’s month. Yep, when I think of February it’s all about spreading the love for me. As you’ll see in my post today, I’ve chosen Red, Black and White this year for my Home is Where the Herd Is Valentine’s Farmhouse Decor. On my mantle my focal point is a sign I created a few years back with my Silhouette and vinyl. I’ve always loved the line “You had me at Hello” from the movie Jerry Maquire. Of course I had to add my own twist by adding hubbies and my name in a different font and finished it off with red ribbon and black lace I had on hand. My trusty black candlestick holders and a few other red and black elements pulled the mantle all together.
Can you guess what inspired my dining room table? Yep, I just can’t get enough of the Buffalo Check pattern and the black and white is just me. I wanted to add a few personal touches and accomplished this by cutting 7 hearts (remember, always odd numbers when creating and decorating) of Real Red Cardstock using the Sunshine Whishes Thinlits Dies. I used black thread and simply wrapped them around the tops of my birch branches, making sure to hang them at staggering lengths.
Because Valentines is all about sentimental sayings, I knew I wanted to make place setting cards. The four place settings cards you see below were created with the new Well Said Stamp Set (this set has 51 stamps in it, and can also be purchased with the Well Written Framelits Dies in a Bundle and you’ll save 10%), the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies and that adorable heart was punched with the Dog Builder Punch. Each one is placed directly in front of a place setting, which is sure to bring a smile to the individuals face when they have a seat.
I smattered some other items around the table including this old Cupid’s Almanac I picked up at a thrift store years ago and a giant plastic diamond ring. Remember, when you’re out and about and something calls your name, just grab it, you won’t be disappointed. Can I say again, how much I love the Buffalo Check Black and White Table Runner and Napkins (I know, I know, but I can’t help myself 🙂
Last but not least, I had this adorable sign and I love the saying “Always Begin Each Day with a Big SMOOCH”, what a perfect final touch. I hope you enjoyed my Farmhouse Valentines Decor tour today, and that it inspired you to do some decorating of your own. Even if no one but you sees it, it will bring you joy throughout the month 🙂 Wishing you a Happy Valentines and a wonderful February from The Scott Farm.
