Lots of Cheer Snowman with Dryer Sheet Technique

Today’s card is all about the Dryer Sheet Technique.  I tend to create simpler cards as the norm but every once in a while I like to bling it up a bit.  I think you may agree that this card is definitely blinged up 🙂  Let’s talk about the background layer of this card and how I accomplished this look.  First you will need a USED dryer sheet.  I started off with a piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock, I used a sponge and my Multipurpose Liquid Glue and coated the entire piece edge to edge.  I then placed my dryer sheet over the top of it, sprinkled some of my Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over the top and placed it inside of my Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder and ran it through my die cutting machine.  The glue was pressed up through the dryer sheet which causes the glitter to cling to it.  If you’re wondering how I cleaned my embossing folder, I just went to the sink and ran very warm water over it to ensure it was completely clean from glue and glitter.  Once this layer dried I trimmed the edges of the dryer sheet flush to the cardstock edges.

I stamped the adorable boxed snowman from the Lots of Cheer Stamp Set and colored it in with my Stampin’ Blends Markers.  You’ll notice I used my Shimmer White Embossing Paste at the bottom of the Snowman but you could also use the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint at the bottom and sprinkle a little glitter on it before you heat it up.   Grabbing the Stitched Nested Labels I cut the Snowman out and turned the dies sideways and ran it through again to get the square end.  I chose the Delightful Tag Topper Punch to add a layer behind the snowman layer and threaded the Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon through it.  Joyful Season was my sentiment of choice and I must say this card was a lot of fun to create.  So grab those used dryer sheets and have fun thinking outside the box like I did, Oh wait the snowman is a box, oh well you know what I mean 😉
