Free As A Bird Interlocking Stitched Rectangle Card

Hi Guys,

What a beautiful interlocking card I have to share with you today, thanks to my teammate and creator Tammy Stumpf.  Tammy used the beautiful Free As A Bird Stamp Set for all of her stamping on this card.  She started off with a card base of Pool Party Cardstock and scored it to allow a front center opening.  She then went about stamping the flowers and leaves all around the edges of the front flaps of the card in Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Ink.  What a beautiful back drop to her center focal point of the card.

She then used her Stitched Rectangle Dies to create her frames.  She used the third and fourth from the largest for the Old Olive Layer and the fourth and fifth from the largest for the Basic Gray Layer.  Once both of these frames had been cut out she used a very little amount of Tombow Multipurpose glue on the inside edge of the Old Olive Frame and the outside edge of the Basic Gray Frame to adhere them together.  The Whisper White Thick card stock was cut using the fifth from the largest rectangle die as well.

The bird and sentiment were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Stampin’ Blends Markers and I’ve listed those in the supplies below.  It’s important to note, when gluing the rectangles to the card base you DO NOT want to pass the center of each.  Meaning the Old Olive/Basic Grape set will only have Glue on the left-hand side and the stamped Whisper White Thick rectangle will only have glue on the right-hand side.  This is what allows the sections to interlock.  It’s really quite easy as I’ve explained above.  The final touch was 3 Basic Rhinestone Jewels placed around the sentiment.  I hope Tammy inspired you with this fun fold card today, I know she inspired me 🙂
