Rooted In Nature Thinking Of You Card

Hi Guys,

It’s time to grab your Rooted In Nature Stamp Set and your Aqua Painters and some 70% Alcohol as well.  If you haven’t already added the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set to your stash, it’s a must have in my opinion.  It’s no secret I love rustic cards and this one makes me squeal.  In the video below I’m going to show you how I used my Aqua Painters and %70 Alcohol to tear the edges of the Crumb Cake Layer and attain the ink bleeding that occurs, EEEKKKK, I love it.

The card above was my original design and it’s 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.  I wanted to take the Braided Linen Trim all the way around the front layer of the card and accomplished this by using a 1/2″ circle punch to just nip the fold edge to pass it through.  Look really closely at the picture above and you’ll see what I mean.

The colors of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla just scream rustic when coupled with the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set.  In addition to beautiful images the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set also has gorgeous and versatile sentiments as you can see on today’s creations.

For the card in the video, I went with the 11″ x 4 1/4″ Crumb Cake Card Base and added a layer of Very Vanilla Cardstock on the inside as shown above.  I chose to forego the inside layer on my original design and stamped the tree right on the Crumb Cake Card Base.  You can decide which you prefer.

I just love the large cut tree trunk stamp in this set and it was absolutely perfect for my background stamping as you can see in this close up picture below.
